Overview:
The Fleet Services Division is in search of a dedicated professional to execute advanced mechanical tasks and support the Fleet Supervisor in managing the repair and upkeep of both gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, along with heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Fleet Technician, you will lead a team of Heavy Equipment Mechanics and take on the responsibilities of the Fleet Supervisor during their absence. This role is a full-time, 40-hour per week position.

Primary Duties:
1. Collaborate in the planning, scheduling, and execution of Fleet Services operations to ensure vehicle repairs align with departmental needs and adhere to established repair policies and procurement guidelines.
2. Mentor and train fellow mechanics in the execution of Fleet Services repair and maintenance tasks, including the effective use of fleet and inventory tracking software.
3. Conduct overhauls, adjustments, and repairs on motor-driven equipment such as trucks, graders, tractors, and other related machinery; install or construct special accessory equipment as needed.
4. Perform extensive repairs by disassembling, replacing worn or damaged components, and reassembling gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, and other critical systems.
5. Utilize computer systems for diagnosing and troubleshooting fault codes on equipment with internal controls.
6. Execute minor and major tune-ups of electrical and fuel systems using appropriate diagnostic tools.
7. Carry out emergency repairs on-site as necessary.
8. Fabricate and modify equipment and parts as directed.
9. Install various accessories and equipment, including snowplowing and sanding apparatus.
10. Maintain digital records of Fleet Maintenance by promptly submitting repair details upon job completion.
11. Operate vehicles and machinery as required to ensure optimal functionality.
12. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and lubrication.
13. Be available for emergency situations as needed.
14. Foster effective working relationships with colleagues, other departments, and the public.
15. Adhere to safe work practices associated with assigned tasks.
16. Maintain accurate computerized work logs and repair orders.
17. Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of standard practices, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty gasoline and diesel engines/equipment. Proficient in hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and welding techniques. Strong ability to follow detailed instructions and technical manuals. Capable of diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues and advising operators on technical difficulties. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with five years of experience in heavy-duty engine repair, along with relevant certifications.
