Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Manager to join our team at Dover Chemical Corp. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing quality control laboratory activities and technicians to ensure consistency with established QC laboratory standards and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Control Laboratory Management: Plan, coordinate, and direct quality control laboratory activities and technicians to ensure consistency with established QC laboratory standards and operational requirements.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Ensure proper documentation of all QC processes, including methods, procedures, and results.
  • Method Development and Analysis: Develop and analyze methods and procedures to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of products.
  • Quality Objectives and Coordination: Formulate and maintain quality control laboratory objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with manufacturing managers or technical staff to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Training and Development: Plan, promote, and organize training activities to remain current on product testing and inspections.
  • Investigations and Troubleshooting: Participate/Lead in investigations with customer service, operations, shipping, etc. regarding customer complaints regarding quality, and manage investigations and troubleshoot existing methods to assess impact of out of specification materials or finished product.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand regulatory requirements for chemical analysis, method validation requirements, and the ability to troubleshoot existing methods.
  • Statistical Analysis and Reporting: Perform statistical analysis, prepare reports, and support research chemists as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: BS Degree in Chemistry with 5-7 years hands-on experience in quality control laboratory environment, in an industrial position preferably in the chemical or petro/chemicals industry.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated skills with laboratory techniques and associated testing equipment, experience working in an industrial setting, knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, and ability to work in a union environment.
  • Business Acumen: Broad understanding of business issues, metrics, organizational linkages, and customer value.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience writing detailed technical reports, and ability to effectively present complex topics in a concise manner.
  • Technical Skills: Computer skills, knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Power Point, and knowledge of how to use SDS software system MSDgen.
  • Work Environment: While generally working in a laboratory setting, the person performing the duties of this job will have potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather, noisy environment, and dusty environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 50 pounds, and be able to perform physical activities that require moving your whole body with considerable use of arms and legs.
