POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of patient services under the guidance of the Administrative Manager and the Clinical Team. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing patient care and operational efficiency.

  • Manages the scheduling of initial consultations, follow-up appointments, and multi-disciplinary visits involving various healthcare providers.
  • Oversees and updates the master clinical schedules for healthcare providers.
  • Processes referrals for specialty appointments as requested.
  • Collects and verifies intake information from patients and referring physicians.
  • Arranges Radiology tests as needed.
  • Requests and secures necessary scans, pathology reports, x-rays, and lab results for clinical evaluations.
  • Collaborates with the Infusion Unit to coordinate chemotherapy treatment schedules for patients.
  • Efficiently triages and manages a high volume of patient inquiries via telephone, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
  • Upholds confidentiality and privacy standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provides support and coverage for other team members during absences and fluctuations in workflow.
  • Engages in additional tasks as assigned to support the clinical team.

This role necessitates close collaboration with physician staff and clinical center colleagues, as well as direct interaction with patients undergoing treatment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma is mandatory; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
