The Patient Services Coordinator III plays a vital role in the healthcare team, acting as the primary liaison for patients. This position is designed to provide essential administrative support to healthcare professionals within a bustling outpatient practice. The Coordinator collaborates closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal support for their practices.

Key Responsibilities:

The Coordinator will be the main point of contact between the Urology care team and patients, facilitating care coordination and management. Specific duties include:

  • Coordinating patient care services, including scheduling appointments with specialists and arranging necessary tests and procedures.
  • Managing insurance referrals and prior authorizations to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Documenting and tracking all required services within the care coordination system.
  • Communicating effectively with patients and care team members regarding appointment statuses and any issues that arise.
  • Monitoring patient compliance with care plans and proactively reaching out to those needing assistance.
  • Facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers to promote continuity of care.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring all pre-visit requirements are met.

Additional Duties:

The Coordinator will also:

  • Answer and manage incoming calls, providing accurate information and directing inquiries as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation for surgical cases, confirming necessary pre-operative testing and documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings to share updates on patient care coordination efforts.
  • Support the care team by managing incoming communications and ensuring timely responses to patient needs.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional patient care and service.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in common office software applications.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or an Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
