We are currently seeking a Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design. This role involves close collaboration with our team of Fire Protection and Plumbing Engineers to deliver energy-efficient solutions for a diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design plumbing systems, including piping and equipment selection for plumbing, pressurized gases, and fire protection systems.
  • Create detailed layouts and specifications for fire protection systems, including fire pumps, mains, standpipes, and sprinkler head arrangements.
  • Develop Life Safety, Fire Alarm, and Fire Suppression plans, including necessary calculations and project narratives.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics effectively.
  • Engage in meetings with clients, owners, and architects to discuss project requirements.
  • Guide junior engineers in implementing energy-efficient designs across various projects.
  • Review contractor submissions and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents and applicable codes.
  • Conduct research and analysis of client design proposals to assess feasibility, costs, and maintenance needs.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships by addressing concerns and needs.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of building life safety, fire, mechanical, and plumbing codes, including ICC Standards and NFPA Codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork as required.
  • Understanding of performance-based design requirements for life safety and fire protection systems.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
