Position ResponsibilitiesThe Telecommunications Systems Engineer will oversee the maintenance of communication systems that support field operations. Additionally, the role involves contributing to the design of new systems and providing support for existing communication infrastructures.
The engineer will ensure that all systems are developed and implemented following the highest security protocols.
Collaboration with a team of engineers and non-technical partners is essential.
Staying informed about evolving communication trends is crucial.There is a specific focus on current telecom regulations and operational standards, particularly those affecting our systems.
Key Duties:
- Develop and sustain commercial systems, including hardware and software adjustments to meet secure system standards.
- Integrate and manage VPN services.
- Maintain knowledge of two-factor authentication solutions and their implementation.
- Utilize network traffic analysis techniques, including packet captures and NetFlow collections.
- Ensure that systems are designed and constructed to meet stringent security standards while considering situational factors.
- Work collaboratively with engineers and non-technical partners.
- Procure and configure hardware/software and telecom solutions efficiently.
- Provide training on communication systems.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution is preferred, with relevant experience as a substitute.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support operations.
- Proven experience with custom communication solutions.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing network protocols.
- Hands-on experience with specialized communication technologies.
- Experience in system deployment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C/C++.
- Knowledge of network and log analysis tools like Splunk or Wireshark.
- Exposure to AI/ML technologies for network protocol analysis.
- Experience with VPN setup and two-factor authentication.
- Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware challenges.
