Career Development Opportunities

As a Library Page, you will have the chance to participate in the Library Page Fellowship Program. This initiative is focused on empowering young individuals as they navigate their career journeys. The program offers resources to enhance career readiness skills, clarify career aspirations, and provides on-the-job coaching, training, and mentorship.

Position Details

This part-time role requires a commitment of 14 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Schedules may vary based on the library's operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive and courteous attitude.
  • Organize and shelve books, CDs, DVDs, and other library materials in an orderly fashion.
  • Assist patrons with inquiries and guide them in locating materials.
  • Support patrons with basic technology, including computers and audio/visual equipment.
  • Prepare library materials as requested by patrons.
  • Assist staff in checking materials for damage and managing inventory.
  • Help set up spaces for library events and programs.
  • Perform additional related tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited institution.
  • Meet any additional requirements as mandated by state law.

Experience

  • Familiarity with troubleshooting basic computer and printer issues is preferred.
  • Experience with eReaders and library technologies is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in foreign languages is a plus.

Skills

  • Ability to accurately sort and arrange items in alphanumeric order.
  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to follow detailed instructions in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent customer service abilities and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
