Position Overview

Are you passionate about literature and dedicated to assisting others? As a Library Page, you will engage in a variety of tasks that enhance the library experience for patrons while gaining valuable insights into library operations.

Role Responsibilities
  • Exhibit a friendly and professional demeanor while delivering outstanding customer service to library visitors.
  • Organize and shelve books, audiovisual materials, and other library resources in a systematic manner.
  • Assist patrons with inquiries, guiding them to locate necessary materials and referring them to appropriate staff when needed.
  • Support patrons in using basic computer systems, internet resources, and audio/visual equipment.
  • Prepare and retrieve library materials requested by users.
  • Collaborate with staff to assess materials for damage and manage the shelving process.
  • Assist in the arrangement of public spaces for events and programs.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited educational program.
  • Possession of a valid employment certificate for individuals under 18, as mandated by state law.
  • Ability to accurately sort and organize items in alphanumeric order.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to follow detailed instructions in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities and the capability to engage with a diverse audience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Reliability and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in troubleshooting basic computer and printer issues is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with eReaders and library technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages is preferred.
