Position Overview
The transmission integration team seeks a passionate individual with a robust understanding of automotive technology and transmission system integration.

In this role, the Transmission Systems Engineer will collaborate closely with PACCAR suppliers, embedded engineering teams, aftermarket service departments, and production facilities to define, document, and uphold the necessary communication between transmission systems, vehicles, and service tool interfaces.

Furthermore, this position will spearhead the implementation of new products and software across internal teams.Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the transmission system authority for North American PACCAR vehicles.
  • Engage directly with suppliers to comprehend new features, hardware, and software modifications and their integration into PACCAR vehicles.
  • Maintain engineering documentation for transmission software, parameters, input/output specifications, and diagnostic tool requirements.
  • Coordinate with verification and validation teams to guide embedded engineering and service tool teams on necessary adjustments.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts for production and field issues concerning transmission programming and performance.
  • Guide internal teams to fulfill required updates and validation tasks.
  • Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to support engineering gate reviews and validation processes for transmission software integration and parameter sets.
Qualifications and Skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required, along with 3-5 years of experience in transmission calibration or systems integration.

Essential Knowledge:
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols: J1939, UDS, XCP, Ethernet, CAN-bus, LIN-bus
- Desired experience in program management or project leadership
- Preferred background in the specification and design of complex automotive components
- Exceptional communication abilities at both technical and non-technical levels.
