A comprehensive understanding of electrical design and engineering methodologies is essential. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering electrical engineering designs for power and industrial initiatives.
  • Assisting in defining project scope and providing cost estimates.
  • Contributing to project budgeting and scheduling.
  • Monitoring and managing design expenditures.
  • Conducting electrical system analyses and calculations, including load flow studies, short circuit evaluations, relay coordination, arc flash assessments, grounding, and lightning protection system designs.
  • Creating engineering documentation, including reports, tender documents, and construction drawings.
  • Drafting equipment specifications and selections, along with conducting technical bid evaluations and recommendations.
  • Designing layouts for power distribution, grounding, and lightning protection systems.
  • Generating wiring diagrams, single-line and three-line diagrams, as well as schematic representations.
  • Specifying and sizing electrical apparatus.
  • Developing designs for high voltage substations, including physical layouts and protection/control systems.
  • Supporting field construction activities, commissioning processes, and vendor factory acceptance testing.
  • Collaborating effectively with other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Possessing a strong understanding of NEC, ANSI, and IEEE standards and best practices.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 10-20 years of experience for senior roles.
  • 5-9 years of experience for mid-level roles.
  • Robust engineering design experience in power systems, industrial applications, and high voltage substations (both AIS and GIS).
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, ANSI/IEEE).
  • Possession of a valid P.E. license.
  • Experience in equipment sizing, specification, and selection (including transformers, generators, motors, and high voltage substation equipment).
  • Proficient in developing one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and schematic diagrams.
  • Experienced in conducting power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, relay coordination, grounding/lightning protection).
  • Familiarity with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, and CDEGS.
