About the Role:

The Staff Validation Engineer will play a pivotal role as a technical expert in the validation of tailored compute and storage data center platforms. This position involves collaboration within a cross-functional team dedicated to developing and executing comprehensive test plans that ensure product functionality aligns with specifications and production standards, including software stack and use case evaluations. The Staff Validation Engineer will also be responsible for diagnosing, identifying root causes, and resolving issues as they arise. As a senior member of the team, this role includes mentoring and guiding other team members on testing methodologies and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate test specifications, requirements, strategies, and methodologies for hardware, firmware, and software stack validation.
  • Oversee test effort preparation and monitor requirements, schedules, and actions.
  • Document, track, and summarize test outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the team to lead and provide internal server research and development hardware validation support.
  • Design, analyze, and enhance test plans and scripts.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate system issues encountered during testing.
  • Work closely with build technicians to ensure systems are constructed, configured, and prepared accurately for testing.
  • Engage with vendors to debug and interpret errors identified during validation test executions.

Qualifications:

  • BSEE or a comparable technical degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in System Validation.
  • Proficient in Windows OS operations and debugging using Windows System Event logs, the Windows ADK, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux systems.
  • Experience in the usage, development, and modification of Microsoft PowerShell scripts.
  • Familiarity with data center and server virtualization technologies (VMware ESX, XEN, Hyper-V, etc.).
  • Experience with Windows server setups, debugging, and testing.
  • Understanding of test plan development.
  • Knowledge of contemporary server and storage architectures and components.
  • Familiarity with modern computer architecture and usage models, including AMD and Client processors, GPU Acceleration, BMC, BIOS, PCIe, DDR4, SATA, NVMe, etc.
  • Working knowledge of standard server/workstation hardware, storage arrays, storage networking, networking protocols, and general connectivity in multi-platform enterprise environments.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and interact with various levels of management and customer contacts.
