Senior Electrical Engineer Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical engineering designs for power and industrial projects.
  • Assist in defining project scope and estimating costs.
  • Contribute to project budgeting and scheduling efforts.
  • Oversee and manage design budgets effectively.
  • Conduct electrical system analyses and calculations, including load flow, short circuit assessments, relay coordination, arc flash evaluations, grounding, and lightning protection system designs.
  • Generate engineering reports, tender documents, and construction drawings.
  • Develop equipment specifications and selections, perform technical bid evaluations, and provide recommendations.
  • Create layouts for power distribution, grounding, and lightning protection systems.
  • Produce wiring diagrams, single-line and three-line diagrams, and schematic representations.
  • Specify and size electrical equipment appropriately.
  • Design high voltage substation layouts and protection/control systems.
  • Support field construction, commissioning, and vendor factory acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of NEC, ANSI, and IEEE standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 10-20 years of experience for senior roles.
  • 5-9 years of experience for mid-level roles.
  • 2-5 years of experience for junior roles.
  • Strong engineering design background in power systems, industrial applications, and high voltage substations (both AIS and GIS).
  • Thorough understanding of relevant codes and standards (NEC, ANSI/IEEE).
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities to guide projects and engineering teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an emphasis on client relations.
  • Possession of a valid P.E. license in the US or an NCEES record.
  • Experience in equipment sizing, specification, and selection (transformers, generators, motors, high voltage substation equipment, including AIS and GIS layouts, conductor and bus bar sizing/selection, and material selection).
  • Proficient in developing one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and schematic diagrams.
  • Experienced in conducting power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, relay coordination, grounding/lightning protection systems).
  • Familiarity with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, and CDEGS.
