Position Overview

We are looking for an Embedded Hardware Engineer who embodies a proactive approach and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design of electrical and electronic components and subsystems, ensuring seamless integration into heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of electrical and electronic systems from initial prototypes to production for autonomous commercial vehicles.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and other specialists to ensure high-quality electrical designs.
  • Address technical challenges across various domains throughout the product development lifecycle, from research to warranty investigations.
  • Facilitate validation activities with suppliers and internal teams to maintain and exceed industry-leading quality standards.
  • Assist in new product launches at assembly plants and troubleshoot field issues as they arise.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline (Computer Science/Electrical Engineering preferred) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and release of electrical components for automotive or commercial vehicles, including software and electronic controls.
  • Proficient in engineering tools such as Pro-Engineer, Mentor Graphics, Matlab/Simulink, and Rhapsody.
  • Familiarity with industry standards including SAE J1939, ISO 26262, and ISO 17987 LIN Protocol.
  • Understanding of heavy-duty commercial truck regulations affecting electrical design and functionality.
  • Experience managing suppliers through established processes.
  • Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools such as FMEA and QFD.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with effective planning and tracking abilities.
