Position: Executive Chef

Job Overview:

As the Executive Chef, you will be the cornerstone of our kitchen, managing all aspects of Heart of the House operations with a proactive approach. Your meticulous attention to detail and positive demeanor will guarantee that our rigorous standards for recipe compliance, food presentation, and cleanliness are consistently upheld.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Performance Oversight: Conduct regular performance assessments and manage disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Culinary Expertise: Exhibit mastery in all cooking roles and techniques.
  • Menu Development: Design seasonal menus with precise recipes, portion sizes, and plating techniques.
  • New Menu Rollout: Spearhead the introduction of new dishes, ensuring comprehensive staff training.
  • Guest Engagement: Interact with guests through table visits to enhance their dining experience.
  • Financial Management: Create and oversee food and labor budgets.
  • Inventory Control: Perform regular inventory assessments, order supplies, and maintain accurate forecasting.
  • Equipment Oversight: Supervise the inspection and upkeep of kitchen equipment, adhering to preventive maintenance protocols.
  • Event Planning: Collaborate with management to organize and execute private dining events and special occasions.
  • Community Relations: Foster relationships within the community to promote our brand and attract new patrons.
  • Health Compliance: Ensure complete adherence to health and safety regulations, surpassing local health standards and maintaining a score above 95.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Executive Chef.
  • Extensive background in high-volume, upscale restaurant environments.
  • Formal culinary training is advantageous.
  • Business education is a plus.
  • SERV Safe certification or Food Handler certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
  • Work in temperature extremes, from high-heat cooking areas to cold storage.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing between 50 to 100 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching to manage stock and supplies.
  • Ability to taste and differentiate flavors, temperatures, and aromas.
  • Work in an environment with noise from kitchen equipment and other stimuli.
