Position Summary:

We are seeking a Field Support Engineer to enhance our product development efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for the commissioning, startup, and training of electric vehicles at both the factory and customer locations, ensuring optimal product performance and alignment with customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a small team of technical assemblers.
  • Ensure that new and updated products meet engineering specifications and are ready for manufacturing. Identify root causes of issues and propose alternative solutions.
  • Review and execute test plans, determine necessary instrumentation, conduct tests, and analyze results. Utilize engineering systems for model and drawing references.
  • Prepare technical summary reports to communicate findings and insights.
  • Conduct field commissioning to support truck assembly and validate software updates prior to field deployment.
  • Assist engineering in leading field initiatives and developing technical documentation, including bulletins and service manuals.
  • Employ troubleshooting techniques and tools to resolve technical challenges. Maintain a development log to document issues and potential solutions.
  • Diagnose system-level problems using vendor-specific diagnostic tools and guides.
  • Enhance testing procedures and operations for improved reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Facilitate the integration of new techniques and processes to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Contribute to the development of training programs and deliver training sessions at the factory or customer sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is required. A focus on Electrical Engineering is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in field technical services support and management.
  • Prior experience in diagnostic testing engineering roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrification products and driveline components is a plus.
  • Experience with CANalyzer tools and their functionalities is beneficial.
  • A strong emphasis on accuracy and precision in task execution.
