Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing process and equipment reliability at our manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives that deliver engineered solutions to complex challenges, boosting equipment and process reliability.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to address systemic reliability and maintainability concerns, aiming to reduce costs and enhance productivity.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on various rotating equipment and turbomachinery.
- Assist with plant outages and shutdowns as needed.
- Identify and prioritize reliability improvement opportunities by analyzing data from SAP, reliability systems, and production losses.
- Conduct and manage Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations.
- Oversee FMEA analyses on critical production assets.
- Provide reliability insights for capital projects as required.
- Offer technical leadership across all levels of the plant organization.
- Mentor junior reliability engineers.
- Uphold safety standards and promote Eastman's safety vision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in reliability engineering, particularly within chemical or petrochemical environments.
- Strong foundational engineering and reliability engineering skills, with a keen interest in advanced reliability principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies.
- Proficient in managing preventive and predictive maintenance plans using asset management software (SAP preferred).
- Knowledge of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and motors.
- Familiarity with predictive and diagnostic technologies for rotating equipment.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of managing a diverse project portfolio.
- Willingness to work in the field alongside mechanics and operators for urgent equipment troubleshooting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong group facilitation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Committed to personnel and process safety.
