Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Field Support Engineer to contribute to our product development initiatives. In this role, you will oversee the commissioning and startup of electric vehicles (EVs) at both our facilities and customer locations, ensuring that our products meet performance standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team of technical assemblers.
  • Ensure new and updated products align with engineering specifications and are ready for manufacturing. Identify root causes of issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Review and execute test plans, determine necessary instrumentation, conduct tests, and analyze results. Utilize engineering systems for model and material specifications.
  • Prepare technical summary reports and communicate findings effectively.
  • Conduct field commissioning to support truck production and validate software updates prior to deployment.
  • Assist engineering teams in leading field campaigns and creating technical documentation, including bulletins and service manuals.
  • Utilize troubleshooting techniques and tools to address technical challenges. Maintain documentation of issues and potential resolutions.
  • Diagnose system-level problems using vendor-specific diagnostic tools and guides.
  • Enhance testing procedures to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Facilitate the integration of new techniques and processes to drive efficiency and product enhancements.
  • Support the development of training programs and deliver training sessions at our facilities or customer sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is required. A focus on Electrical Engineering is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in field technical services support and management.
  • Previous experience in diagnostic test engineering roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrification products and driveline components is a plus.
  • Experience with CANalyzer tools and their functionalities is beneficial.
  • A strong commitment to executing tasks with high accuracy and precision is essential.
