Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team at the Longview manufacturing facility. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing process and equipment reliability across our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading projects that deliver engineered solutions to complex challenges, thereby improving equipment and process reliability.
- Collaborating with maintenance teams to address systemic reliability and maintainability challenges, aiming to reduce costs and boost productivity.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on various types of rotating equipment and turbomachinery.
- Providing support during plant outages and shutdowns as needed.
- Identifying and prioritizing reliability improvement opportunities by analyzing data from SAP, reliability systems, and production losses.
- Leading and managing Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations.
- Conducting FMEA analyses on critical production assets.
- Offering reliability insights for capital projects as required.
- Providing technical leadership across all levels of the plant organization.
- Mentoring junior reliability engineers.
- Promoting a safe working environment and adhering to the Eastman safety vision.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of reliability engineering experience, particularly in chemical, petrochemical, or related industries.
- Strong foundational engineering and reliability engineering skills, with a willingness to learn advanced principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies.
- Experience in managing preventive and predictive maintenance plans using asset management software (SAP preferred).
- Knowledge of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, and motors.
- An understanding of common predictive and diagnostic technologies for rotating equipment.
- A self-motivated and proactive approach to managing project portfolios.
- A desire to work in the field alongside mechanics and operators as necessary for urgent equipment troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong group facilitation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- A service-oriented mindset, customer focus, and strong analytical skills.
- A steadfast commitment to personnel and process safety.
