Job Overview

The KEYS Program Student Facilitator plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive case management services to historically underserved students who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits while pursuing their education. This position is integral to the Workforce Development Employment and Training Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct orientations for students referred to the KEYS Program to assist them in obtaining their GED, Career Certificate, or Associate's Degree.
  2. Facilitate the enrollment of students into the KEYS Program by conducting intake interviews within a specified timeframe.
  3. Guide students through the enrollment process and clarify participation requirements.
  4. Develop and implement tailored case management services to support student success.
  5. Collaborate with various stakeholders to assist students in resolving compliance-related issues.
  6. Request Special Allowances for students as needed.
  7. Monitor student progress and maintain records of participation and outcomes.
  8. Ensure students are attending classes and achieving satisfactory academic progress.
  9. Provide updates to relevant agencies regarding student compliance.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of student records.
  11. Act as a liaison with relevant agencies concerning program activities.
  12. In collaboration with KEYS staff, design and deliver academic programming and support workshops.
  13. Assist in compiling program reports as required by oversight agencies.
  14. Participate in program evaluation and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  15. Attend relevant meetings, workshops, and training sessions as requested.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Required

  1. Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field with one year of relevant experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a similar field with two years of related experience.
  2. At least one year of experience in post-secondary education, workforce development, or related fields.
  3. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

Preferred

  1. Experience working with historically underserved populations in an educational setting.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this position require regular communication and interaction with students. Candidates should be able to perform tasks that may involve standing, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typically moderate in noise level and conducive to a professional setting.
