Job Overview
The KEYS Student Facilitator plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive case management services to historically underserved students receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits while pursuing their education. This position is part of a Workforce Development Employment and Training initiative under the Department of Human Services.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct orientations for students referred to the KEYS Program, assisting them in obtaining their GED, Career Certificate, or Associate's Degree.
- Facilitate the enrollment process for students, including conducting intake interviews within the designated timeframe.
- Guide students through the enrollment process and clarify participation requirements.
- Develop and implement tailored case management services to support student success.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to resolve compliance-related issues for KEYS students.
- Request Special Allowances for students as needed.
- Monitor student progress and participation, ensuring compliance with program requirements.
- Maintain confidential records and provide updates to relevant agencies regarding student compliance.
- Act as a liaison with external partners and attend necessary meetings and conferences.
- In collaboration with KEYS staff, design and deliver academic programming and support services.
- Assist in the preparation of program reports required by funding agencies.
- Participate in program evaluation activities as directed.
- Engage in professional development opportunities as requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education and Experience:Required
- A Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field with at least one year of relevant experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a similar field with two years of related experience.
- A minimum of one year of experience in post-secondary education, workforce development, or related programs.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
Preferred
- Experience working with historically underserved populations in an educational setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
The physical requirements for this position include regular communication, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, and the ability to perform various physical activities as needed.
Work Environment:The work environment is typically moderate in noise level and may require interaction with a diverse population.
