Position Overview: We are looking for a committed and empathetic individual to join our team as an Educational Support Specialist. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist educators in executing lesson plans and instructional activities.
  • Provide individualized or small group support to students, including those with tailored education plans.
  • Help students with their assignments and projects, ensuring comprehension and engagement.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters learning and student achievement.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior, documenting observations as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other support personnel to create and implement strategies for student success.
  • Support classroom management and organization, including maintaining educational materials and resources.
  • Assist during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods as required.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in working with children or adolescents in an educational context is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn about special education principles and practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, educators, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere desire to assist students in achieving success.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and respond to changing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology tools are preferred.
