Title: KEYS Program Student Coordinator - Bilingual
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $43,500 annually
Working Hours: This role involves 37.5 hours per week, with specific hours to be determined in agreement with the supervisor. On-campus attendance is mandatory.
The Student Coordinator will deliver comprehensive case management services to historically underserved students receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits while pursuing their education. The KEYS Program is a Workforce Development initiative under the Department of Human Services. This role involves guiding students through the KEYS Program offerings, including childcare subsidies and educational funding, while assisting them in navigating the enrollment process and achieving academic success.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct orientations for students referred to the KEYS Program, focusing on obtaining their GED/HEP, Career Certificate, or Associate's Degree.
- Facilitate student enrollment in the KEYS Program through timely intake interviews.
- Assist students in understanding participation requirements and the enrollment process.
- Develop and implement tailored case management services to support student success.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to resolve compliance-related issues for KEYS students.
- Request Special Allowances for students as needed.
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records of participation and outcomes.
- Ensure students are attending classes and meeting academic standards.
- Provide regular updates to relevant agencies regarding student compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records.
- Act as a liaison with external agencies concerning program activities.
- Collaborate with KEYS staff to design and deliver academic programming and support groups.
- Assist in preparing program reports as required by funding agencies.
- Participate in program evaluation efforts as directed.
- Attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions as requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Education and ExperienceRequired:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field with one year of relevant experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a similar field with two years of relevant experience.
- At least one year of experience in post-secondary education or workforce development programs.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
Preferred:
- Experience working with historically underserved student populations in a higher education setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Ability to apply logical reasoning to solve problems and perform basic mathematical calculations.
