Position Overview


The Clinical Support Nurse is an integral member of the leadership team in Intellectual Disabilities Services, providing essential medical knowledge to multidisciplinary teams. This role is crucial in delivering effective health and wellness services to the individuals we support.

The Clinical Support Nurse brings experience in offering a range of health services, including the development of comprehensive assessments and treatment strategies, delivering clinical and supportive care, and collaborating with treatment teams and other service providers.

This position employs evidence-based practices, such as Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Trauma-Informed Care, to effectively support the individuals served.


As a nurse employed by Supportive Concepts for Families, you will provide healthcare services to individuals receiving support within our programs.

Regular communication with the nursing administration is essential to ensure continuity of care and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Experience in nursing or healthcare management.
Licensure and Certifications

  • Active Delaware Registered Nursing License in good standing.
Position Requirements

  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Ability to obtain Limited Lay Administration of Medications (LLAM) Certification during employment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and facilitate the healthcare needs of individuals served, ensuring they are met effectively.
  • Conduct necessary medical assessments in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare service standards and organizational policies.
  • Oversee wellness and medical services in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Foster a commitment to the organization’s mission.
  • Maintain effective therapeutic relationships with individuals served.
  • Coordinate medical care activities and meetings.
  • Complete all required documentation and reports in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with individuals receiving services, healthcare providers, and family members regarding healthcare needs.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Records to document all healthcare interactions.
  • Adhere to confidentiality regulations and patient rights.
  • Provide training for staff on medication administration.
  • Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  • Provide after-hours on-call support as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
