Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Ruby on Rails Engineer to become a vital member of our PinSeeker team, focusing on the Precision Sports and Technology platform. PinSeeker facilitates virtual competitions on golf simulators, allowing players to compete globally for points, prizes, and cash rewards. Our goal is to revolutionize sim golf entertainment, providing players with seamless access to engaging golf activities and a variety of games.

This role reports directly to the Vice President of Software Engineering and offers the flexibility to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and sustain high-quality, scalable features for the PinSeeker application.
  • Collaborate closely with the product team to ensure that specifications are met and user value is delivered.
  • Maintain the quality and performance of the application, addressing any emerging issues.
  • Create and uphold tests (unit, integration, etc.) to prevent the introduction of new issues and ensure existing problems are resolved.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our technical strategy, focusing on continuous process improvement.
  • Work with teams to estimate and prioritize feature development effectively.
  • Provide mentorship to junior developers on best practices and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on software development experience with Ruby on Rails and related technologies (Devise, Redis, Sidekiq, Rails Admin, etc.).
  • Proficient in Postgres, including query writing and optimization.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL and the ability to write efficient GraphQL endpoints.
  • Experience with testing frameworks (RSpec) and a commitment to achieving full coverage of all product features.
  • Proficient in version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Understanding of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Focus on delivering sustainable customer value continuously.
  • Bonus points for being an avid golfer.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $97,000 to $152,900. The actual annual salary offered will be determined based on factors such as experience, geographic location, education, and skills, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of the offer.
