Job Overview

Powers & Sons LLC is looking for a dedicated individual to join our Engineering Team as an Engineering Project Coordinator within a dynamic work setting. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager and requires a collaborative team player. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Project Oversight: Manage multiple projects utilizing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Schedule and lead APQP meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with Designers, Product Design Engineers, Mating Component Engineers, Test Engineers, and Engineering Supervisors.
  • Requirements Definition: Establish customer expectations regarding interchangeability, service, performance, weight, and homologation.
  • Parameter Establishment: Define part parameters including oscillation, road load, and orientation.
  • Weight Analysis: Conduct solid modeling using tools such as Catia, NX, or Inventor.
  • Stress Analysis: Perform classical and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) including Linear Static, Nonlinear, and Fatigue assessments.
  • Design Development: Create 2D and 3D layout drawings and solid models in the appropriate CAD systems.
  • Detailing: Produce 2D assembly and detail drawings.
  • Tolerance Analysis: Conduct tolerance stack-ups and specify materials.
  • Issue Resolution: Investigate campaign-related issues and resolve warranty concerns as necessary.
  • Specification Development: Create test specifications and Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R) as required by clients.
  • Risk Management: Review product Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEA and PFMEA) with Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Project Planning: Develop project timelines and plans, including Gantt Charts.
  • Problem Solving: Utilize 8D methodology for effective problem resolution.
  • Experimentation: Conduct Design of Experiments as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Focus on customer-specific requirements and strive for ongoing enhancements in responsibilities.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related field such as Automotive Engineering from an accredited institution is required. While five years of experience is preferred, we welcome applications from recent graduates and those with less experience. Compensation will be aligned with experience.
