Meta is on the lookout for a Manager of Privacy Engineering Operations to lead and expand a dedicated team focused on Privacy Incident Analysis. This essential group plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the privacy and security of over 3 billion users worldwide.

As the head of this team, you will collaborate with engineering departments to assess, address, resolve, and derive insights from incidents and vulnerabilities at the application level.

You will also serve as a vital collaborator with cross-functional teams, including Legal and Policy, to ensure that incidents are communicated and documented with precision.

We seek an individual with robust leadership capabilities, a background in incident analysis or application privacy/security, and a commitment to empowering engineers in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative setting, enjoying the challenge of discovering innovative strategies to mitigate risks while protecting billions of users.


Key Responsibilities:


Lead a team of skilled engineers providing Privacy expertise to identify, categorize, and address all privacy-related incidents across Meta.

Drive investigations and retrospectives to enhance Meta's privacy framework continuously.

Collaborate with Privacy Leadership and engineering leaders throughout the organization to prioritize Privacy challenges across products and infrastructure, balancing trade-offs and business objectives.

Expand the team's influence by attracting, retaining, and developing top-tier talent in the industry.

Establish a roadmap for future initiatives, monitor progress, and assess the team's performance.

Identify and prioritize projects that enhance Meta's capability to manage Privacy Incidents more effectively and efficiently.


Minimum Qualifications:


6+ years of experience in software engineering, privacy engineering, or security engineering, including 2+ years of direct management of a high-performing engineering team.

Proven experience in recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance evaluation.

Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across various disciplines.

Proficiency in at least one programming language.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.


Preferred Qualifications:


Experience managing business-critical incidents in a large technical organization.

Technical expertise in Incident Response for Application and/or Infrastructure breaches.

Experience leading highly technical operational teams.


Compensation:

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
