About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the After School Site Supervisor at the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC). This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to empowering a diverse population of youth to achieve a successful transition to adulthood.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement a comprehensive and engaging after-school program at Bancroft Elementary School, focusing on academic support, enrichment activities, and positive youth development.
  • Create a supportive academic environment that fosters student learning and progress.
  • Monitor student academic progress and implement project-based curricula for enrichment activities.
  • Plan and execute field trips, parent/family engagement events, and other activities that promote youth development and community engagement.
  • Supervise a team of AmeriCorps members and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of the program.
  • Manage youth intake and enrollment processes, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collect and enter data into the LAYC integrated data management system, Efforts To Outcomes (ETO), to track program progress and outcomes.
  • Provide referrals and support to youth and program caregivers related to food, basic needs, and language access.
  • Serve as the LAYC liaison with school administrators and staff, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.
  • Work with a team of LAYC site supervisors to support youth across all Education programs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, or associate degree; Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Two years of youth development experience, with a passion for education and youth development.
  • Bilingual or fluent/proficient in English and Spanish required.
  • Excellent facilitation and training skills, with knowledge of programming and engagement strategies.
  • Strong initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving skills, with excellent time management and ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a flexible and energetic approach to youth development.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with culturally diverse populations, with a commitment to creating a respectful and inclusive environment.

Physical Requirements

This is a largely sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 10 lbs. May require the ability to travel locally and/or regionally.
