Position Overview:

The Construction Superintendent oversees the daily operations of construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and HITT's rigorous safety and quality standards. This role is pivotal in fostering collaboration among project stakeholders and maintaining a focus on both client and business interests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and uphold the HITT safety program across all subcontractors, ensuring timely reporting and investigation of incidents, and facilitating safety inspections.
  • Maintain HITT's quality benchmarks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead on-site safety initiatives, ensuring a secure working environment for all personnel.
  • Document daily activities and site conditions meticulously, managing the punch list and project closeout in collaboration with owners and architects.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to develop and adhere to project schedules, ensuring proper installation methods and sequence are followed.
  • Foster positive relationships with subcontractors, enhancing community ties to create business opportunities while ensuring fair treatment.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of work orders and tickets, understanding subcontractor scopes to minimize change orders and proactively addressing issues.
  • Organize the site team, coordinate temporary facilities and utilities, and expedite long lead items as necessary.
  • Work closely with the project manager and site operations team throughout the project duration.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or business is highly preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, particularly with a general contractor.
  • Experience with tenant renovations, service work, and projects in occupied spaces is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and best practices.
  • Ability to effectively manage resources, including personnel, tools, and time, to meet project deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or project lead role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in sector-specific software, including Microsoft Office Suite, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
  • Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated skills in:
    • Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal.
    • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for the construction industry.
    • Data interpretation and effective communication of findings.
    • Task organization and priority management.
