Commercial Construction SuperintendentJob Overview:

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the on-site workflow of construction projects, ensuring adherence to the project timeline and HITT's safety and quality protocols. This role is pivotal in providing leadership and acting as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, advocating for both the business and client interests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and enforce the HITT safety program across all subcontractors, ensuring prompt reporting and investigation of incidents, and facilitating safety inspections.
  • Uphold HITT's quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead on-site safety initiatives, ensuring a secure working environment for all personnel.
  • Maintain a comprehensive daily log of activities and site conditions, managing the punch list and closeout process until project acceptance.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to develop and maintain the project schedule, ensuring proper installation methods and sequence are followed.
  • Foster positive relationships with all subcontractors, enhancing community ties to create business opportunities while ensuring fair treatment.
  • Ensure accurate daily documentation of work orders and tickets, understanding subcontractor scopes to minimize change orders and proactively addressing issues.
  • Organize the site team, coordinating temporary facilities and utilities, and identifying critical items that require expedited attention.
  • Work closely with the project manager and site operations team throughout the project duration.
Qualifications:
  • A four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or business is highly preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with a general contractor.
  • Experience in tenant renovations, service work, and fast-paced project environments is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of building processes and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to organize resources effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in sector-specific software, including Microsoft Office Suite, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on professionalism.
  • A positive attitude and passion for the construction industry.
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to integrity and alignment with HITT's core values.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and methods.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Respectful engagement with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $99,000 to $150,700. Compensation may vary based on location and is determined by individual experience and qualifications.
