Senior Project Engineer for Capital Initiatives

Position Overview: The City of Wenatchee is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Project Engineer and Staff Engineer in Capital Projects. This position offers competitive salaries and an excellent benefits package.

Salary Ranges:
• Project Engineer: $95,730 - $117,468 per year
• Staff Engineer – Capital Projects: $79,063 - $97,017 per year

Key Responsibilities:
• Project Engineer: Responsible for overseeing and managing significant Public Works transportation and utility projects, including design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction phases. Prepare intricate plans and specifications utilizing advanced engineering expertise. Monitor project budgets to ensure compliance with financial guidelines and manage consultant agreements for various project-related services.

• Staff Engineer: Engage in civil engineering tasks related to the development, design, and execution of capital projects. Conduct construction inspections and maintain documentation. Create design and contract documents, and prepare legal descriptions for rights-of-way, easements, and annexations. Organize public engagement events to inform and gather feedback on project plans.

Project Highlights:
• Apple Capital Loop Projects: Confluence Parkway, South End Ped/Bike Access Bridges, North Wenatchee Corridor Improvements.
• Construction of new shared-use trails and transportation corridor upgrades.
• Annual Pavement Preservation and ADA upgrades.
• Water Quality Stormwater Basin Improvements and various replacement projects.

Qualifications:
• Project Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering, including project design and construction management. Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer is required, with the expectation to obtain Washington State registration within one year of hire.

• Staff Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification. Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D or similar digital terrain modeling software, CADD, GIS, and GPS is essential.
