Job Summary

Catholic Charities Diocese is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Caseworker Coach I - Residential Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Overnight Caseworker Coach team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and success of our participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and orient new participants to our shelter, complete initial intakes, and explain program routines and behavioral expectations.
  • Provide a consistent presence in the facility while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residents.
  • Prepare meal supplies, assist with serving meals, and oversee after-meal clean up to ensure a clean and well-maintained facility.
  • Assist participants in developing life skills, such as using showers, laundry facilities, and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Support residents in achieving their goals, check-in with participants after off-site appointments, and document progress and barriers to success.
  • Assist participants in gathering necessary documents to achieve their goals and obtain housing.
  • Ensure the facility is clean, well-maintained, and support participants in completing chores in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Keep supervisors informed of issues, problems, complaints, and concerns expressed by residents.
  • Document services provided, maintain sign-in logs, and other record-keeping processes.
  • Foster a trauma-informed, safety-focused culture within our organization.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of county-wide resources addressing the needs of people experiencing homelessness.
  • Participate in case management, training conferences, and program meetings as scheduled.
  • Work collaboratively with coworkers and establish relationships with colleagues from other agencies providing similar or complementary services.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Human Services, social or behavioral sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one-year experience serving people experiencing homelessness, living with substance use disorders, and/or mental illness.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
  • Well-developed listening skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred, but not required; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Successful completion of a live scan background clearance.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed approaches to service delivery.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to become proficient with database software.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Candidates with lived experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Valid California Driver's License and automobile insurance in compliance with Agency requirements.
  • Successful completion of DOJ/FBI Live Scan and TB Screening.
  • Current CPR and First Aid training or the ability to complete training.
