About San Diego Youth Services

Since its inception in 1970, San Diego Youth Services has positively impacted the lives of over 780,000 homeless, runaway, and vulnerable youth. Annually, we provide safe living environments and long-term solutions through shelters, foster homes, community centers, and housing for more than 28,000 youth across 100+ locations. Our approach includes prevention, early intervention, and treatment to assist youth before they require more intensive care or face homelessness.

Our Objectives:

  1. Address Basic Needs: We recognize the increasing challenges of hunger, poverty, and youth homelessness, and strive to meet these fundamental needs.
  2. Foster Positive Connections: We encourage youth to focus on constructive life changes and healthy relationships by providing essential resources and services.
  3. Enhance Life Skills: Our support aims to equip youth with the independent living skills necessary for self-sufficiency and stability.
  4. Promote Health and Well-Being: We offer a comprehensive range of services to help youth overcome trauma and challenges that place them at risk.

The I CARE Program supports youth up to 21 years old who are at risk of or have experienced sexual exploitation. It includes a mental health clinic and a drop-in center.

  2. Conduct screenings, intakes, and manage documentation for participants at the Drop-In Center.
  3. Achieve a productivity standard of 30% for billable services.
  4. Create personalized goal plans and provide coaching, peer support, and rehabilitative services.
  5. Offer assessment, guidance, and life planning assistance to participants.
  6. Facilitate 1-2 group sessions and ongoing activities at the Drop-In Center.
