Job Overview

Position Title: Caseworker Coach II (Case Manager-Recovery) at Catholic Charities Diocese

Reports To: Program Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Time Commitment: Full-time (40 hours/week), with a schedule from 6:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Tuesday to Saturday, with some flexibility required.

Salary: $24-$25 per hour, based on experience.

Position Summary

The Caseworker Coach II plays a pivotal role within the Catholic Charities Diocese, focusing on providing individualized support for substance use recovery. This position involves facilitating group sessions and assisting participants in establishing and achieving realistic, attainable goals. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of behavioral health and recovery resources, fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues both within and outside the organization. This role is designed to inspire, support, and guide individuals on their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with participants to help them identify and address recovery-related challenges, including facilitating access to shelters and other essential services.
  • Coordinate access to detoxification and treatment programs tailored to individual needs, while building strong partnerships with substance use and behavioral health providers.
  • Deliver personalized recovery support and relapse prevention strategies.
  • Design and lead engaging recovery and relapse prevention group sessions, as well as substance use disorder education workshops, ensuring content meets the needs of participants.
  • Promote a culture of recovery within the community by maintaining updated resources and listings of local recovery support groups.
  • Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution services as necessary.
  • Assist participants in setting and achieving their goals, documenting progress and identifying barriers to success.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of local substance use and behavioral health resources, including eligibility criteria for various programs.
  • Support overall program operations, including administrative tasks such as answering phones and processing donations.
  • Facilitate access to technology for participants to connect with internal and external service providers.
  • Participate in case review meetings, team discussions, and scheduled training sessions.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within Catholic Charities and establish relationships with other agencies providing complementary services.
  • Document all interactions with participants accurately in the appropriate systems.
  • Complete and submit all required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, social or behavioral sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, or mental health challenges.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required; proficiency in English is essential.
  • Successful completion of a background clearance.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and knowledge of Motivational Interviewing, Stages of Change, Housing First, and harm reduction strategies is advantageous.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn database software quickly.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment
