Youth Support Partner
Tuesday through Saturday (Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri 10:30am-7pm; Saturday 11:30am-8pm)

San Diego Youth Services is seeking a dedicated Youth Support Partner for the I CARE Program, stationed at the Mid-City Youth Center. This is a full-time, exempt role reporting directly to the Program Manager.

The I CARE Program specifically supports youth up to age 21 who are at risk of or have experienced sexual exploitation. We offer a mental health clinic and a welcoming drop-in center.

POSITION CONTEXT

The Youth Support Partner will deliver trauma-informed peer support and family services to youth affected by commercial sexual exploitation throughout San Diego County. Responsibilities include managing the drop-in center environment, facilitating group sessions, conducting intake assessments, and collaborating with youth to create personalized service plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and assess an integrated treatment strategy for youth facing commercial sexual exploitation and related challenges.
  2. Conduct screenings, intakes, and maintain necessary documentation for drop-in center participants.
  3. Achieve a productivity standard of 30% for billable services.
  4. Create individualized goal plans and provide coaching, peer support, and rehabilitative services.
  5. Offer assessment, guidance, and life planning assistance to participants.
  6. Facilitate 1-2 group sessions and ongoing activities at the drop-in center.
  7. Supervise and provide coverage for youth in the drop-in center milieu.
  8. Coordinate care with external providers while maintaining professionalism.
  9. Connect participants with community resources and organizations.
  10. Engage in community outreach initiatives.
  11. Monitor participant progress and maintain accurate records.
  12. Prepare and submit necessary reports.
  13. Transport participants as needed.
  14. Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  15. Attend all staff meetings and fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a High School diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of experience, ideally with high-risk adolescents.
  • Must have 3+ years of lived experience prior to employment; bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, group facilitation, documentation, and case management is advantageous.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is required.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid must be maintained.

Salary Range: $17-$19/Hour
