Reports To: Senior Program Manager, Homeless Services
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) with overnight availability required.
Compensation: $20-$21 per hour based on experience.
Position SummaryThe Overnight Caseworker Coach I plays a vital role within the team, ensuring that participants receive services in a secure and clean environment. This position is focused on assisting residents in achieving realistic and attainable goals that lead to stable housing solutions. The coach will develop a comprehensive understanding of community resources and foster collaborative relationships with colleagues both within and outside the organization.
Core Responsibilities- Welcome and orient new participants to the facility, conducting initial intakes and explaining program routines and expectations.
- Maintain a consistent presence in the shelter, prioritizing the physical, emotional, and psychological safety of residents.
- Assist in meal preparation and serving, ensuring cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
- Support residents in developing essential life skills, including utilizing facilities and navigating social services.
- Monitor progress towards established goals, providing support and problem-solving assistance as needed.
- Help participants gather necessary documentation for housing applications.
- Ensure the facility is well-maintained and assist residents in completing daily chores.
- Communicate any issues or concerns raised by residents to the supervisor.
- Document services provided and maintain accurate records of resident interactions.
- Facilitate access to technology for residents to connect with service providers.
- Promote a trauma-informed and safety-focused culture within the organization.
- Stay informed about community resources that assist individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Participate in case management and training sessions as scheduled.
- Collaborate with coworkers and establish relationships with external agencies offering similar services.
- Complete all required reports and paperwork accurately and on time.
- Associate's degree in human services, social or behavioral sciences, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least one year of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or related challenges.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory; proficiency in English is required.
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and service delivery methods.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to use database software.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Individuals with lived experience are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements- Ability to walk for extended periods, with occasional standing, bending, or climbing.
