Role Overview:
This position plays a crucial role in the advancement and operation of New Glenn, a state-of-the-art, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed for frequent missions carrying both crew and cargo to various orbits.

Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the design of metallic structural components.
- Provide technical guidance and in-depth product knowledge to facilitate manufacturing processes.
- Offer Liaison Engineering support to address non-conformances, suggest process enhancements, and update engineering specifications.
- Mentor and support junior engineers in their professional development.
- Oversee fabrication and assembly operations; manage procurement of materials and components; and ensure vendor performance aligns with vehicle build timelines.

- Collaborate with configuration and assembly teams to prioritize procurement by identifying critical long lead items and urgent part shortages.
- Plan and execute test objectives, analyze data, and compile reports.
- Maintain and communicate updates on project schedules, budgets, and technical progress.
- Identify and implement enhancements for New Glenn's design and functionality.
- Create and revise technical drawings, specifications, and documentation as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in structural design within automotive, aerospace, or launch vehicle sectors.
- Proficiency in assessing vehicle load paths and conducting strength evaluations.
- Experience in critical structural element design, including shell buckling and compressive failure.
- Knowledge of material selection and manufacturing processes.
- Strong skills in mechanical design and integration using 3D CAD software.
- Familiarity with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5) and related standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Creo (Pro/E) and Windchill software.
- Hands-on experience with engineering projects at the collegiate level.

Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with FEA analysis tools such as Nastran, ANSYS, Optistruct, and LS/Dyna.
- Experience with aerospace hardware ownership and systems engineering practices.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control methods.
