Lunar Systems Structures Engineer

This position is integral to the Lunar Permanence business unit, which focuses on the development of Blue Origin's various Blue Moon lander product lines.
To advance our mission of enabling human presence in space, we are constructing sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As a vital member of a diverse team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will serve as a Systems Engineer (SE) with a focus on Structures and Mechanisms (S&M) subsystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and manage configuration control of all subsystem requirements, ensuring traceability to both higher-level (vehicle) and lower-level (component) requirements.
- Monitor and report on subsystem technical performance metrics.
- Create and oversee verification and validation plans, ensuring rigorous configuration control.
- Draft and manage system safety documentation, including fault hazard assessments (FHAs) and failure modes evaluation criteria assessments (FMECAs).
- Facilitate system integration activities within the subsystem and across other subsystems and business units related to structures and mechanisms products.
- Conduct trade studies and establish key decision criteria for technical solutions to integrated challenges, documenting the rationale.
- Promote and exemplify Blue Origin's leadership principles.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in systems engineering and systems integration.
- At least 4 years of experience in system safety and reliability analyses.
- 4 years of experience in the design, analysis, and testing of spaceflight structures and/or mechanisms hardware.
- 4 years of experience in aircraft or spacecraft engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the requirements development and/or verification of structures or mechanisms hardware currently operating in space.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems designed for lunar operations.
- Experience with crewed spaceflight systems.
