Role Overview:
This position is situated within the Space Systems Development (SSD) division, which is dedicated to pioneering next-generation concepts and systems that facilitate sustainable living and working in space. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the comprehensive design and layout of various in-space architectures. You will oversee the integrated architecture configuration and manage the interfaces across the vehicle subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to the physical integration and packaging of structural, mechanical, fluids, and avionics subsystems within the integrated vehicle.
2. Develop and manage interface definitions between subsystems, ensuring compliance with control documents to support major design reviews and program milestones.
3. Continuously evaluate designs for manufacturability, assembly, testing, and operational efficiency, optimizing for quality and cost.
4. Assist in the formulation of system requirements, flow down, and verification planning.
5. Coordinate regular configuration reviews to address module-level interfaces, subsystem functionality, assembly, and operational considerations.
6. Lead the prioritization of development tasks and facilitate the resolution of integration challenges among engineering teams.
7. Manage the cross-functional change management process, ensuring effective communication across all impacted groups.
8. Participate in cross-functional trade studies and impact assessments to inform development and programmatic adjustments.
9. Oversee the management of Vehicle CAD models, ensuring adherence to top-down design principles and maintaining the CAD structure.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in design and configuration within the aerospace sector.
- Demonstrated experience in configuration control on newly developed products from initial trade studies through to final design, manufacturing, and testing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a highly integrated, cross-functional team environment.
- Proficient in design and integration using 3-D CAD software, with experience in managing large assemblies (preferably Creo Pro/E).
- Familiarity with component packaging for complex, integrated products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in designing and developing flight-proven spacecraft hardware.
- Over 8 years of professional experience in integrated systems development.
- Strong understanding of GD&T practices and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Experience with requirements management tools (DNG preferred).
