Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design engineers to assess and validate tooling and part assemblies, providing insights for enhanced Design for Manufacturing (DfM) strategies.
• Create detailed work instructions and training materials to define manufacturing processes and train technicians effectively.
• Implement process improvement techniques (e.g., value stream mapping, visual management) to optimize production efficiency and minimize quality concerns.
• Conduct capacity assessments to determine staffing needs for optimal production.
• Plan and execute upgrades for capital equipment and layouts to meet production demands.
• Work alongside structural analysts to ensure performance standards are achieved.
• Provide hands-on engineering support during hardware prototype development and testing phases.
• Design effective material handling, packaging, and labeling systems to safeguard hardware throughout production and testing.
• Support testing operations, contributing to design improvements and process reliability.
• Develop strategies for planning, controlling, and optimizing operations within the Manufacturing Execution System.
• Design and fabricate tooling, jigs, and fixtures to facilitate parts manufacturing.
• Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of hardware and equipment.
• Operate various equipment, including wire EDM, CNC machines, and hand tools as necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing, Production, or Process Engineering.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering models, drawings, and specifications.
• Familiarity with metal and polymer additive manufacturing techniques.
• Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and standards.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as required.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined in 22 CFR Part.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in an industrial setting, particularly in high-performance composite component manufacturing.
• Background in composite design and production for aerospace applications.
• Proficiency in CAM programming and Design for Additive Manufacturing.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as NX.
• Understanding of industry standards (e.g., MIL-HDBK-5/17, NASA-STD-5001).
