About the Role

Confluence Health is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Executive Director of Surgical Services. This key position will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, operations, and management of Surgical Specialty Care across both hospitals and ambulatory practices within the Confluence Health System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning & Leadership: Collaborate with the Chief Ambulatory and Clinic Network Officer and the Confluence Health executive team to develop, implement, and maintain strategic plans that meet the needs and goals of the organization.
  • Staff and Department Management: Develop, maintain, and align the organizational structure for the Surgical Specialty Care areas, determine functions, responsibilities, and qualifications of departmental employees.
  • Operations Management: Plan the acquisition of capital, personnel, and materials to achieve Surgical Specialty Care goals and objectives.
  • Customer Service, Advisory/Communication: Provide proactive advice, counsel, and services to management and employees.
  • Projects: Manage complex projects and be responsible for successful completion within budget.
  • Budgeting: Develop and manage budgets and business plans, monitoring performance as necessary.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's Degree in Hospital Administration or its equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a (Senior) Director/Vice President in a progressive healthcare corporation.
  • Qualifications: Demonstrated success in clinic operations, planning, contracting, and medical staff relations. Minimum of 5 years of senior level administrative experience. Minimum of 10 years of management experience.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work closely with others and alone in a demanding environment. The successful candidate will be required to immediately respond to mission-critical issues impacting patient care operations.
