Spartan Logistics, a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider, is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support our corporate office. Our company is renowned for its innovative logistics solutions, operating a vast network of warehouses and transportation services across multiple states.

As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will work closely with the Human Resources Manager to facilitate compliance and the efficient execution of HR processes and payroll operations. This role encompasses a variety of HR functions, including payroll processing, employee onboarding, unemployment claims management, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate new hire onboarding processes, including orientation and necessary documentation.
  • Manage employee data from hiring through termination, ensuring accurate entry into payroll and benefits systems.
  • Review and authorize HR actions, uploading relevant documentation into the HR Information System (HRIS).
  • Conduct employment verifications for non-DOT positions.
  • Maintain comprehensive employee files, including personnel, payroll, and medical records.
  • Respond to HR-related correspondence promptly or delegate as necessary.
  • Assist in managing unemployment claims and related inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager to monitor departmental communications and inquiries.
  • Support HR initiatives by attending meetings and documenting discussions.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, escalating issues to the HR Manager when appropriate.
  • Conduct routine audits of HRIS, benefits, and compliance to ensure adherence to regulations and policies.
  • Assist with departmental projects and events as needed.
  • Process weekly payroll, collaborating with management to gather and verify timesheets and other payroll-related information.
  • Maintain reports related to overtime percentages.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred one year of payroll experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience in human resources.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Work Environment:

This position involves prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer, with occasional movement within the office. Candidates should be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
