Job Overview

Spartan Logistics, a leading third-party logistics provider, is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to enhance our corporate HR functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth execution of various HR processes and payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including orientation and necessary documentation.
  • Manage employee data throughout the employment lifecycle, ensuring accurate record-keeping in payroll and benefits systems.
  • Review and authorize HR actions, maintaining compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee employment verification processes for non-DOT positions.
  • Maintain comprehensive employee files, including personnel and medical records.
  • Respond to HR-related correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Assist in managing unemployment claims and inquiries.
  • Support the HR Manager in handling departmental communications and inquiries.
  • Attend HR meetings and document discussions and action items.
  • Serve as a primary contact for employee inquiries, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR systems and processes to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with management to process payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain reports related to overtime and payroll metrics.
Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in payroll or human resources is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer, with occasional movement within the office. The role may involve lifting items up to 20 pounds.
