Position: Human Resources Coordinator

Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is in search of a dedicated Human Resources Coordinator to support our mission of serving individuals in need. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive workplace environment and ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain digital employee records within the HR Information System (HRIS), ensuring accuracy in the onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Organize and manage employee files, including personnel and medical records, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits, ensuring timely enrollment and addressing any related inquiries.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders by addressing HR-related questions and requests promptly.
  • Manage the COBRA process, including notifications and election notices.
  • Support the recruitment process by tracking applications, coordinating job postings, and assisting with candidate evaluations.
  • Facilitate the performance review process, ensuring timely distribution and collection of evaluations.
  • Participate in New Hire Orientation, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and information is effectively communicated.
  • Coordinate employee recognition initiatives to promote a culture of appreciation within the organization.
  • Contribute to internal communications, including newsletters and other informational materials.
  • Engage in HR projects and initiatives as required, supporting the overall goals of the department.
  • Assist with access management for employee identification and security measures.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an administrative capacity, with prior experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Solid understanding of HR practices, policies, and general business operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, along with familiarity with HRIS systems.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary.
