Job Overview

Spartan Logistics, a leading third-party logistics provider, is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support our corporate HR functions. This role is essential in ensuring compliance and the efficient execution of HR processes and payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including orientation and necessary documentation.
  • Manage employee data throughout the employment lifecycle, ensuring accurate records in payroll and benefits systems.
  • Review and authorize HR actions, maintaining thorough documentation in the HRIS.
  • Conduct employment verifications and maintain employee files.
  • Respond to HR-related correspondence and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Assist with unemployment claims and support the HR Manager in departmental communications.
  • Participate in HR meetings, taking detailed notes for future reference.
  • Serve as a primary contact for employee inquiries, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR systems and compliance to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Support departmental projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Process payroll weekly, collaborating with management to gather necessary approvals and documentation.
  • Maintain reports related to overtime and payroll metrics.
Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in payroll or human resources is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer, with occasional movement around the office. Candidates should be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
