Position Summary:
We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support our corporate HR functions. In this role, you will work closely with the Human Resources Manager to ensure compliance and efficient execution of HR processes and payroll operations. This position encompasses a variety of HR responsibilities, including payroll management, onboarding, unemployment claims, record-keeping, and other administrative duties. The role is full-time, operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, with a competitive hourly wage based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and collaborate with managers on new hire onboarding processes, including orientation and necessary paperwork.
  • Manage all aspects of employee information from hiring to termination, ensuring accurate data entry into payroll and benefits systems.
  • Review and approve HR actions, uploading relevant documents into the HRIS.
  • Conduct non-DOT employment verifications.
  • Maintain comprehensive employee personnel, payroll, and medical files.
  • Respond promptly to HR-related correspondence and delegate as necessary.
  • Assist with unemployment claims processing.
  • Support the HR Manager in monitoring and addressing departmental inquiries.
  • Attend HR meetings and document detailed notes.
  • Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries, escalating issues to the HR Manager when needed.
  • Perform routine audits of HRIS, benefits, and compliance to ensure adherence to regulations and company policies.
  • Contribute to departmental projects and events.
  • Process weekly payroll with the HR Manager, ensuring accurate timesheet collection and entry into the payroll system.
  • Maintain reports related to overtime percentages.
Qualifications:
  • At least one year of payroll experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in human resources.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Familiarity with human resource principles and practices.
  • Proficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Work Environment:
This role involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with occasional walking or standing required. The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is necessary.
