Position Summary:
We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support our corporate HR functions. This role involves close collaboration with the Human Resources Manager to ensure adherence to HR processes and payroll operations. The HR Coordinator will provide essential support across various HR functions, including payroll processing, onboarding, unemployment claims management, record-keeping, and other administrative responsibilities. This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday, offering competitive hourly compensation based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and necessary paperwork.
  • Manages employee information throughout the employment lifecycle, ensuring accurate data entry into payroll and benefits systems.
  • Reviews and approves HR actions, ensuring all documentation is uploaded into the HRIS.
  • Handles non-DOT employment verifications.
  • Maintains comprehensive employee files, including personnel, payroll, and medical records.
  • Responds to HR-related correspondence in a timely manner or delegates appropriately.
  • Assists in managing unemployment claims and related information.
  • Collaborates with the HR Manager to monitor and respond to departmental inquiries.
  • Participates in HR meetings, providing detailed notes and insights.
  • Acts as the primary contact for employee inquiries, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Conducts routine audits of HR systems and compliance to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Supports departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Processes weekly payroll in collaboration with the HR Manager, ensuring accurate timesheet submissions.
  • Maintains weekly overtime reports.
Qualifications:
  • At least one year of payroll experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in human resources is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in multitasking and managing various responsibilities.
  • Understanding of human resource principles and practices.
  • Effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Work Environment:
This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer, with occasional movement within the office. The ability to lift up to 20 pounds may be necessary.
