Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SBA Business Development Officer to join our team at City National Bank. As a key member of our business development team, you will be responsible for leading business development efforts with a primary focus on SBA lending and deposit growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Develop and execute business development strategies to drive SBA lending and deposit growth, while maintaining market leadership presence in the local community.
  • Sales and Credit Analysis: Meet and exceed individual sales goals, adhering to corporate, legal, and regulatory policies, guidelines, and requirements regarding compliance. Conduct thorough credit analysis and provide recommendations for loan approval.
  • Client Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and referral sources, leveraging them to gain additional business through referrals.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Develop and maintain partnerships with internal line of business leaders and external partners to drive business growth and expansion.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee and manage the technology platforms and vendor relationships that streamline the SBA loan process within the bank.
  • Education and Training: Educate prospective clients about the bank's underwriting guidelines, SBA programs, and all applicable government regulations.
  • Loan Servicing and Management: Service, modify, and/or restructure existing loans as needed, monitor client credit worthiness and repayment activities, and direct back office personnel in resolving credit problems and delinquent payment issues.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5-7 years of directly related experience in SBA business development, with a proven track record of success in driving business growth and expansion.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and referral sources.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and understanding of financial services business, including SBA lending and deposit growth strategies.
