About the Role

Rohlig USA is seeking a highly skilled Trade Lane Manager to join our team. As a Trade Lane Manager, you will be responsible for guiding our local sales force towards trade lane and business unit goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to meet strategic goals of trade lane specific business.
  • Meet budgets for business and trade lane development.
  • Assess the external environment for the trade lane market and define competitive position.
  • Align with product and procurement to match product and trade lane demands.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and implement new trade lanes.
  • Develop and run advertising and promotion campaigns in cooperation with local marketing/corporate communications.
  • Plan and carry out direct sales activities to attain new accounts.
  • Develop new and prospective customers while maintaining existing accounts.
  • Assist in preparation and negotiation of bids, RFQ's, and quotations with customers, suppliers, and overseas agents.
  • Coordinate and attend sales visits with overseas partners for aiding business development on the trade lane.
  • Respond and follow up sales inquiries and leads using appropriate methods.
  • Weekly follow up with new clients after first shipments.
  • Deployment of information about all contracts with customers and suppliers to all parties.
  • Attend industry/market related functions when required and represent the company.
  • Update and maintain all relevant information about customers and sales activities.
  • Provide weekly reporting of sales activities.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of international freight forwarding market and trade lane market.
  • Degree preferable.
  • Courage and proven track record to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Highly engaging, innovative, and liable in finding solutions for the customer.
  • Deep understanding of Röhlig products and solutions.
  • Strong influencing skills and experienced in working with teams across multiple countries and functions.
  • Persistent, determined, and has the resilience to achieve challenging goals.
  • Language skills - Spanish preferred but not required.
