Lead Client Services Consultant

Role Significance:
This role is pivotal in maintaining essential major and national accounts through exceptional service and administrative proficiency. Success in this position is achieved by cultivating extensive and meaningful relationships with clients, advocating for their needs within Blue Cross, and driving operational efficiency aligned with the strategic business plan of the accounts. In collaboration with account managers, this role secures benefit confirmations and renewal decisions from clients to ensure readiness for calls, claims, and access to care. Involvement in new account implementations is also expected.
A Typical Day:
- Establish and nurture strong, trustworthy relationships with clients to promote loyalty and retention.
- Monitor financial performance of accounts by analyzing margin reports, billing statements, and enrollment data. Identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate with various departments to ensure effective financial reporting.
- Enhance operational success by pinpointing issues and managing cross-functional initiatives aimed at recovery and prevention in areas such as claims performance and customer service.
- Facilitate the onboarding of new clients, products, and member populations while adhering to legislative requirements.
- Coordinate with multiple departments including membership, benefits setup, contracts, and claims to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Lead specific projects for clients, including research and solution development, while ensuring the accuracy of legal documents.
- Be accountable for client administrative and operational reporting, collaborating with account reporting teams to analyze spending trends and derive actionable insights.
- Drive effective communication strategies for members, including the creation of client materials and participation in open enrollment meetings.
- Represent major and national accounts in internal teams, advocating for resolution and progress on key operational metrics.
- Serve as the voice of the customer, conveying client expectations to internal teams and delivering presentations to educate clients.
- Provide mentorship to junior Client Advisors.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Familiarity with Blue Cross and its product offerings.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience, considering all applicable work, education, and military experience.
- 3 years of experience in health plan account management or related fields requiring significant customer interaction and problem-solving capabilities.
- Possession of a valid MN Resident Producer License in Life & Health/Accident within 60 days of employment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues related to benefit plans.
- Proven negotiation skills and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and respond to customer expectations with a sense of urgency.
- Proficient in training and mentoring team members.
- Willingness to travel as required.
