Job Summary:

The Offshore Turnaround Lead is responsible for overseeing the execution of Turnaround (TAR) activities for offshore facilities in the Gulf of Mexico. This role encompasses the entire process from initial planning to final execution, managing projects with budgets up to $10 million.

The Turnaround activities include a variety of tasks such as piping modifications, vessel cleaning and inspections, valve maintenance, and integrity assessments. These projects aim to meet diverse business objectives, including environmental compliance, safety enhancements, maintenance, and operational efficiency.

The Turnaround Lead collaborates closely with various stakeholders, including Operations, Engineering, Integrity, Global Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams, to ensure successful project delivery. This position is based in Houston, TX, and will require offshore visits during the planning and execution phases.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage the complete Turnaround process in alignment with established objectives and approved work lists.
  • Ensure safe development and execution of turnaround projects.
  • Facilitate interactive planning sessions and develop comprehensive work lists.
  • Maintain a consistent operating rhythm to achieve deliverables.
  • Organize and document planning meetings effectively.
  • Lead gate reviews and ensure all necessary documentation is collected.
  • Deliver Turnarounds on time and within budget while meeting all conditions of satisfaction.
  • Conduct readiness assessments and implement necessary gap-closure plans.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Turnaround team.
  • Deliver regular updates and reports to key stakeholders.
  • Embed EHS requirements into the Turnaround work process.
  • Capture and discuss lessons learned from Turnaround activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in managing offshore turnarounds or outages, along with project management or engineering experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with construction best practices and offshore facility standards is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of business issues and the ability to drive favorable outcomes.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and deliver results.
  • Knowledge of work management systems, maintenance planning, and turnaround planning.
  • Experience with project cost estimation, scheduling, and risk assessment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to create technical reports and presentations.
  • Capability to manage external construction services and work effectively under pressure.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily office-based work with occasional travel to off-site locations.
  • Fieldwork may involve outdoor conditions in a construction site atmosphere.
  • Interaction with team members, supervisors, and client personnel.
  • Must adhere to safety protocols and wear required safety equipment.
  • May require travel to multiple job sites within a day.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Effective communication capabilities.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Good vision and observational skills for analysis and investigations.
  • Manual dexterity for routine office tasks.
  • Physical mobility to perform office duties and travel as necessary.
